Caring for Your UrbanWIRX Piece

Your UrbanWIRX kitchen island or furniture piece is crafted from solid wood with premium finishes — built to last a lifetime when properly maintained. Follow this guide to keep it looking its best for generations.

Daily Cleaning

• Wipe surfaces with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth after use.
• Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh chemical cleaners — they can strip the finish.
• For spills, blot immediately with a clean cloth. Do not let liquids sit on the surface.

Deep Cleaning

• Use a mild soap diluted in warm water for periodic deep cleaning.
• Always wipe in the direction of the wood grain.
• Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth — never leave the surface wet.

Protecting the Surface

• Use cutting boards when prepping food — never cut directly on the wood surface.
• Place trivets or heat pads under hot pots, pans, and appliances.
• Use coasters under glasses and mugs to prevent water rings.

Conditioning the Wood

• Apply a food-safe wood conditioner or mineral oil every 3–6 months to keep the wood hydrated and prevent cracking.
• For finished surfaces, use a furniture wax or polish suited for your specific finish type.

Environmental Considerations

• Keep your piece away from direct sunlight, heating vents, and air conditioning units to prevent warping or fading.
• Maintain indoor humidity between 35–55% for optimal wood stability.

Touch-Ups & Repairs

• Minor scratches can often be buffed out with a wood touch-up marker or fine-grit sandpaper followed by re-oiling.
